WASHINGTON NATIONAL ZOO

Join us for a photo journey through Washington, D. C., National Zoo. You will see more than just the expected animals of the wild, but some excellent displays of Aquatic life, and a marvelous Butterfly pavilion. When in D. C. be sure to place this Zoo on your list of must see attractions. This Zoo is one of the best you can visit in the U.S. and now, with the latest upgrades (including the Elephant exhibit) it is even better!

The Washington National Zoo has the largest and most extensive collection of the Lion Tamarin from South America. This is a project centered on one of the most endangered species fo Tamain.

A very rare species of South American Squirrel. Quite beautiful!

Another amazing South American creature. This is a Pigmy Eagle species. One look at that beak and, small or not, it is unmistakable.

I probably spent as much time in this terrific Butterfly pavilion as any other exhibit. It was wonderful watching them up close. Note the crystalis a few photos down and the emerging Butterflies!

These amazing giant Brazilian Lily pads grow to as much as four feet across. They are incredible!
